This past weekend was another success for the Tigers. The team capitalized on their first place finish in the Lynn Schweizer Invitational by winning the Kyle Campbell Classic.
Every Tiger that competed in this weekend’s tournament improved their game. Junior All-American Larisa Luloff led the team to victory in both tournaments, placing third at the invitational and first this past weekend in Marshall, Michigan. Luloff got her first title as a collegiate athlete after this weekend's win.
Junior Rachele Miller and sophomore Anna Foley followed with second and seventh place finishes respectively at The Classic. The largest improvement was seen with first-years Tarinni Kakar and Cristal Chan who went from 22nd and 28th, respectively, to ninth and tenth. First-year Tori Gingerich, Allison Miller, and Layla Ahmadi also competed in the Classic, placing 18th, 27th, and 42nd respectively.
“[They have] very strong chemistry made up of a team with four international players and nearly every player in an Honors Program,” said Head Coach Vince Lazar who has been coaching both the men’s and women’s teams for 16 years.
Lazar is no stranger to success, having coached the women’s team to 12 NCAA Championship appearances. With the team’s strong start to the season, it only looks up for the Tigers.
