On this day in DePauw Athletics history…...
2004: The women’s golf team led the first round of the Golden Isle Women’s Collegiate Golf Tournament. Their solid performance led them to winning the tournament overall.
2007: A campus-wide picnic was held in celebration of the women’s basketball team bringing home the first-ever team national championship in DePauw history.
2014: The women’s 800 yard freestyle relay broke the school record. Their time of 7:25.22 is six seconds faster than the previous school record. Their time also earned them all-America honors.
2014: The men’s 800 yard freestyle relay also broke the school record. They touched the wall in 6:40.36 which is just a second faster than the previous record. Their seventh place performance earned them all-America honors.
2014: Alex Gasaway ‘14 earned honorable mention for the Division III Coaches’ all-America Team in women’s basketball. Coach Huffman also earned the Region 6 Coach of the year.
2015: The men’s 400 yard freestyle relay broke the school record by .02 seconds to earn them an 11th place finish at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships.
2015: Indianapolis Monthly highlighted the Monon Bell Classic on their list of 50 things every Hoosier must do as a “Best in Indiana.”
2017: Sophomore Natalie Gruszka was named NCAC women’s distance runner of the week.
2017: Junior Larisa Luloff earned NCAC women’s golfer of the week.
