DePauw University hosted the Graduate School Fair on Monday, Sept. 29 and the Internship and Career Fair on Tuesday, Sept. 30, in the UB Ballroom for students from all class years to explore post-undergraduate options and career opportunities they could take on during and beyond their time at DePauw.
Monday’s graduate fair showcased a variety of institutions, including Purdue Public Health and School of Business, University of Chicago, Central Michigan University, University of Wisconsin, Butler University, Drexel University, Xavier University and various Indiana University programs. Representatives handed out a variety of pamphlets and brochures that informed about student life, course offerings and admissions information. Many of the schools in attendance were STEM-oriented, with several resources in business or public health.
Tuesday’s internship and career fair presented an array of organizations and businesses catered to all subjects of study. Students could explore part-time teaching roles, legal internships, environmental field work, home services for the disabled and elderly, marketing and HR positions, state government programs or international diplomacy and many more. Organizations represented included Teach for America, Eli Lily, Roche, Barnes & Thornburg Lawfirm, Ireland Home Based Services and the Indiana Secretary of State.
DePauw encourages students from all four years to attend these fairs to expose themselves to the opportunities they can prepare for in the future and what is available to them in their current years. The fairs provide an abundance of resources for upperclassmen looking to continue their schooling post-undergraduate and for underclassmen branching out and experiencing the working world while they are still studying.
