The DePauw: What factor led you into playing at a university like DePauw?
Kate Milner: I chose DePauw because I liked that athletes were able to be involved in a lot more on campus other than just athletics and academics. I also loved the community between all of the teams on campus.
TDP: What does it mean to be an athlete at DePauw?
KM: To me, being an athlete here is not only a lot of fun, but it is also rewarding knowing that I can make a difference on a team.
TDP: What training during the off-season would you contribute to your success?
KM: In the off-season I do my best to keep my fitness levels up by setting aside time each day to work out. When it’s nice outside I especially love to run in the nature park here.
TDP: What does your daily regimen consist of when it comes to balancing school and field hockey?
KM: During season, I am pretty busy, but I make sure to stay organized and maximize my free time to get homework and studying done around practices and games.
TDP: What are your expectations for this season?
KM: I have high expectations for the rest of the season. Our team has really come together well, and we are in a good position to make it to the conference tournament at the end of the regular season.
