DePauw University will continue its 2014-2015 Ubben Lecture season this spring with NFL quarterback Andrew Luck.
Luck began his football career as the starting quarterback at Stratford High School in Houston, Texas. He graduated as co-valedictorian and went on to play football at Stanford. He was the first player selected in the 2012 NFL draft. Luck found success in the NFL, leading the Colts to three playoff appearances in his first three seasons and earning three Pro Bowl selections.
Luck’s lecture, titled “Creating Your Personal Game Plan for Success,” will take place on Friday, April 24 at 7 p.m. in Kresge Auditorium in the Green Center for the Performing Arts. The event will be free and open to the public. Head Football Coach Bill Lynch will moderate the lecture.
Luck isn’t the first Colts quarterback to deliver an Ubben Lecture. Peyton Manning also spoke in 2004.
Piper Kerman, author of “Orange is the New Black: My Year in a Woman’s Prison,” will deliver her Ubben Lecture, “Lessons Learned Behind Bars,” on February 4 at 7:30 p.m. in Kresge.
