Both of DePauw University's track teams finished the indoor portion of their schedules on Saturday as they hosted the DePauw Classic at the James A. Hollensteiner Indoor Track.
The DePauw women finished fifth out of 17 schools at the event behind overall winner Bellermine University.
Junior Celia Kauth collected the only individual victory for the Tigers on the women's side. Kauth earned a first place finish in the high jump with a leap of 1.58 meters.
DePauw's 4x200-meter relay squad also came in first with a time of 1:50.21 to round out the victories for the Tigers.
Meghan Burke broke her own school record in the 60-meter hurdle with a time of 9.34 seconds and earned a third place finish.
The men had to watch as rival Wabash College came in first out of fifteen schools and defeated the sixth place Tigers by over 100 points.
However, the weekend was not without some success for the hosts. The Tigers collected a first and a third place finish in the pole vault with Kyle Mackey earning the win and Aaron Krabill finishing third. Mackey's winning leap cleared 4.66 meters and Krabill's jump of 4.40 meters was good enough for third place.
Both the men and the women are back in action on Saturday, Mar. 1 when some competitors travel to Anderson University for the Fred Wilt Invitational. The rest of the squad will compete in the North Coast Athletic Conference Heptathlon.
