The women’s golf team traveled to Boulder Creek Golf Club in Streetsboro, Ohio over the weekend for the first two rounds of the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships.

Now halfway through the championships, the No. 11-ranked Tigers are in second place with a score of 649. No. 3 Wittenberg University leads the pack at first place with 618 and Denison sits at third place at 680.

First-year Larisa Luloff is currently at third place overall after shooting a 152 over the course of the weekend.

Strong performances from the Tigers include first-year Rachele Miller in seventh place with a score of 163 and first-year Danielle Smith in eighth place with 166.

Despite the high placements, the ladies are not completely satisfied with their performance this weekend.

“My performance at conference last weekend was all right. I did not play to my best ability, but neither did anybody else on the team, really,” Smith said. “We all kind of struggled, but luckily we have one more weekend to improve.”

The tournament continues this upcoming weekend at Wooster Country Club. The Tigers hope to surpass Wittenberg and return with the first-place finish.

"I know its not over yet...we have a pretty big deficit," Luloff said, "but I also think that we are not going to let it bother us too much and we will come back next weekend and do our best again because that's all you can do."
