Day one of the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships held at Denison University did not go as planned for the DePauw University Tigers swim team.
In the only event of the day, the men's three-meter diving, DePauw received zero points and stands well behind the leader, Denison.
After the first day of competition, host Denison leads with 180 points, followed by Oberlin College with 65 points, Kenyon College with 44 points, Wittenberg University with 40 points, and The College of Wooster with 18 points. Allegheny College, Hiram College, Ohio Wesleyan University, Wabash College and DePauw all have yet to score.
The competition gets into full swing on the second day, Friday, as both the men and women will get in the pool. Friday's schedule includes the men's and women's 200-meter freestyle relay, the men's and women's 500-meter freestyle, the men's and women's 200-meter individual medley, the men's and women's 50-meter freestyle, the men's and women's 400-meter medley relay and the women's three-meter diving.
Over the weekend, the Tigers will look to improve on their third place finish from last season and qualify for the NCAA Division III meet.
