It takes courage and strength to confront an issue as threatening to the communities of rural Indiana as the production of methamphetamine, but someone on this campus took that step. While we are safer as a campus without this so close to home, so are the families nearby and the children of Ridpath Elementary.
That simple phone call by one student marks a necessary service to our local community. As we start a new year here at DePauw, hopefully we can all be as mindful of our potential as stewards to our community and strive to be good citizens as well as good students.
