On Tuesday, Oct. 6, is the Indy Pride Career Fair. Participants will have one-on-one interviews with companies that focus on creating an inclusive and welcoming environment. The event will be held virtually from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  

Also, on Tuesday, Oct. 6, is the Faculty Teaching Round Table. This event is being held for faculty to help them learn more about what the CARE Team does. CARE stands for concern, assessment, response, and evaluation. This team assists students directly and supports them when facing difficult times. The event will be held virtually from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The McDermond Center speaking series continues, and Projjol Banerjea ‘06 will be speaking on Tuesday, Oct. 6. Banerjea ‘06 is an entrepreneur, startup advisor, and angel investor. He is also the founder and Chief Producer Officer of the customer intelligence platform Zeotap and will be speaking from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. virtually.

The Compton Lecture Series will be taking place on Wednesday, Oct 7, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. It’s a three-part series featuring organizers and leaders in the struggle for Black liberation. This week is the last lecture of the series and is called The Black Liberation struggle: An Internationalist movement.

2) Mental Health Week 2020

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week, and student-athletes and coaches can attend multiple zoom sessions throughout the week. On Wednesday, Oct. 7, counseling services will be holding a Mental Health Q&A from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Counseling services are also offering individual sessions specifically for student-athletes, and coaches can set up meetings for their teams by contacting scotthamilton@depauw.edu

On Sunday, Oct. 11, the NCAC offers a virtual program called “Great, Now What?” through zoom and questions for that are due today, Monday, Sept. 5. Students can submit questions to betsy@betsybutterick.com

There are also lots of service opportunities student-athletes can get involved in. Each weekend Servants at Work need 7-8 people to help them build wheelchair-accessible ramps throughout Putnam County. To participate, contact blakeallen@depauw.edu

 3) Deadline To Register To Vote 

Monday, Oct. 5, is the deadline to register to vote in the state of Indiana. Other deadlines to register in popular states of DePauw University Students include: 

Ohio: Monday, October 5 

Illinois: Sunday, October 18

Michigan: Monday, October 19

Missouri: Wednesday,  October 7

California: Monday, October 19

4) COVID-19 Dashboard Update 

On Monday, Oct. 5, there are only two active COVID-19 cases on DePauw University’s Campus. There is currently one person in isolation and 23 people in quarantine. For more information, visit the COVID Dashboard.
