As Super Bowl LIX kicks off in Caesars Superdome, New Orleans, LA, the battle for the Lombardi Trophy is set. The reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs will take on the NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles in a rematch of Super Bowl LVII.

The Philadelphia Eagles came out of the NFC with a No. 2 seed in the playoffs, ending the season with a 14-3 record. In the wild card round, the Eagles dominated the (11-6) Green Bay Packers and advanced to play the (10-7) Los Angeles Rams, with the Eagles winning 28-22 in the divisional round. The Eagles were able to contain the electric (12-5) Washington Commanders offense in the NFC championship game, led by Offensive Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels from LSU winning 55-23. This upcoming game will be the Eagles’ third Super Bowl appearance in under a decade.

On the AFC side, the Kansas City Chiefs came out with the No. 1 seed in the playoffs as well as a first round bye, rounding up the regular season with a 15-2 record. The Chiefs defeated the (10-7) Houston Texans soundly with a 23-14 victory. In the AFC championship game, the Chiefs took on the (13-4) Buffalo Bills in a nailbiter, though they were able to retain the 2025 NFL MVP award winner Josh Allen with a 32-29 victory. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes will be seeking his fourth Super Bowl ring on Sunday, Feb. 9, which would tie him for the second-most Super Bowl victories in the NFL as a quarterback.

Kendrick Lamar and SZA will be performing in the Super Bowl halftime show. You can catch all the action at 6:30 p.m. EST on Sunday, Feb. 9, on FOX.
