DePauw’s perfect Conference record was broken in their final game of the regular season with a 4-2 loss to Kenyon last night.

The Tigers had shut out the Lords 1-0 in the first game of the double header behind another dominant pitching performance from first-year Brooke Bandy.

The right-hander went into the seventh inning, allowing only one hit and striking out seven to earn eighth win of the season.

DePauw’s one and only run of the ballgame came on a fielding error in the sixth that allowed pinch-runner Andi Sarkisian to score the go-ahead run.

The Tigers jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in game two before allowing four answered runs to Kenyon in the fifth inning, where the Lords slugged two home runs. First-year Ashlee Gibson had thrown four shutout innings before allowing two of Kenyon’s four runs.

The Tigers would be unable to rally during their half of the fifth, and the score would remain 4-2 for the final.

Sophomore Lauren Gooden led the offense, going 1-3 with her ninth homer of the season.

Entering today’s doubleheader, DePauw had won 13 of their last 14 games to return to their dominant form after struggling out of the gate with a 1-6 record.

DePauw will begin the Conference tournament on Friday, where they will be playing Ohio Wesleyan, a team the Tigers swept in a doubleheader in early April.
