This spring break, Public Safety, along with the Putnam County Emergency Management Director and the Director of the 911 Center, will perform its annual emergency exercise drill.

Details cannot be disclosed, for participants in the drill cannot know the exact breakdown of the drill. Public Safety’s Critical Instant Response Team (CIRT) will participate in the emergency test.

Currently, Public Safety is working on a project involving campus security cameras. According Director of Public Safety Angela Nally, President Casey has dedicated a large fund to evaluate and fix the security and camera systems. Nally explained that Public Safety is evaluating the entire security camera program, as some cameras are over ten years old.

Nally estimated that they are replacing about 20 cameras across campus, as well as adding cameras to the new Peeler parking lot, the 109 Hanna parking lot and along Jackson St. near the duplexes for street and sidewalk coverage.

According to Nally, Public Safety is also working to set up security systems in Hoover, such as card-swipe access and camera systems inside of the building.
