While some DePauw students have essentially taken up residence in the Prindle Institute for Ethics, others still can't even locate it on a map.

This year, the staff at Prindle plans to start the year a little differently in the hopes of gaining interest from freshmen and helping more students locate and effectively utilize the building.

"For a couple of years we have been trying to figure out the best way to get people out here [to Prindle]," said Nicki Hewell, a Prindle intern. "We started talking to Cara Setchell about getting freshmen involved and the idea just came together over the summer."

All freshman students were invited to attend Prindlepalooza on Saturday, Aug. 27. Beginning at 1 p.m. and ending around 6 p.m., the event will focus on acquanting students with the ethical discussions at DePauw, as well as demonstrating resources available.

"Jack Daddy Sunrise," a student bluegrass band, will perform and games, activities and food will be available.

Buses will leave from the Hub for Prindle every 30 minutes beginning at 1 p.m. and ending at 5:10 p.m.

Two ethical films ("No Impact Man" and "Waiting for Superman") will be shown, at 1:30p.m. and 3:10 p.m., respectively.

Yoga instructor Nancy Butler will lead a class at 1:30 p.m.. A scavenger hunt will be held around the Nature Park, with prizes going to the first 50 people to successfully locate places in the park.

"I'm interested to see what Prindle and the Nature Park have to offer," said freshman Marjorie Daily. "I think the freshmen, in general, are excited because it's something new and fun."
