On March 29, “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” was released, marking the continuity of the MonsterVerse franchise. Three years after the defeat of Mechagodzilla, Kong controls Hollow Earth while Godzilla takes charge of the order of humans and Titans. Following the appearance of an unidentified signal, Kong and Godzilla are forced into a new adventure where they discover the mysteries of Skull Island and the origin of Titans. Both face the comeback of a dangerous villain and the threat of destroying their territories's peace.

The film is directed by Adam Wingard, who is also the director of the prequel “Godzilla vs. Kong” (2021).  It features returning cast members such as Rebecca Hall (Dr. Ilene Andrews), Brian Tyree Henry (Bernie Hayes), and Kaylee Hottle (Jia). Moreover, the movie includes new characters played by Dan Stevens (Trapper), Rachel House (Hampton), Alex Ferns (Mikael) and more.

Towards the release date, the production team expected to earn $50 to $55 million at the Box Office during opening weekend.. However, “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” made a robust debut, hitting $80 million in North America and surpassing all expectations. The movie continues to attract the public and break many records. Despite the massive achievement regarding revenue, the movie receives 54% “rotten” reviews on average on Rotten Tomatoes. Many critics suggest the improvement on special effects and dialogue compared to “Godzilla Minus One” a Japanese movie about Godzilla that was released last year
