For the first time since 2012, the men’s and women’s soccer programs are going to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Despite losing to Ohio Wesleyan 0-2 in the NCAC tournament semi-final, men’s soccer (11-3-4) received an at-large bid on Monday, guaranteeing them a place in the tournament.
The women had already secured an automatic bid into the tournament after defeating Denison 2-0 last Saturday to win the NCAC Conference title.
Both teams will be looking to fare better than they did in 2012, when the women’s team was eliminated in the first round, while the men fell in the second round.
The women open play today at 1:30 p.m. against the Wisconsin-Oshkosh Titans (14-4-2) in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The men’s team will face the Westminister Blue Jays (17-2) Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. in St. Louis, Missouri.
