On Saturday, Feb. 24, the Filipino Student Association (FSA) successfully hosted a vibrant Karaoke Night. This was their third karaoke night of the academic year and the second of this semester. FSA organizes karaoke nights to allow a space for everyone to share their love of singing and music with the DePauw community.
The atmosphere was electric as students gathered for two hours of music, performance, and to celebrate the diversity of songs people enjoy. Students participated with songs from all over the world - in English, Tagalog, Japanese, Vietnamese, and more. The variety of languages and song genres created a truly enriching atmosphere. To complement the performances, FSA provided participants with a delicious array of Chinese food and various snacks and drinks.
Karaoke Night not only provided a platform for students to express themselves through music, but also fostered cultural exchange. It became a celebration of identity, where people from different backgrounds came together to appreciate a rich tapestry of global melodies. More than that, the event served as a reminder of the importance of cultural inclusivity on campus.
