Football shuts out Oberlin 53-0

Oberlin College (3-6, 3-5) proved to be no match for the Tigers, as DePauw shut out the Yeomen 53-0, improving their record to 8-1 (7-1 in conference play).

DePauw is now 6-0-2 at home against Oberlin.

The Tiger’s offense was led by junior quarterback Matt Hunt and junior Kirchhoff. Hunt threw for 208 yards and three touchdown, while Krchhoff ran for 86 yards and three touchdowns.

DePauw’s offense also got a strong performance from wide receiver Tyler Leising (115 yds, 2 TDs), while freshman running back Ramon Lopez and freshman quarterback Jake Lasky each added touchdowns of their own.

The Tiger’s defense held the Oberlin offense to 147 yards through the air and only 54 yards on the ground. Senior line backer Philip Ganser lead DePauw with six total tackles, three assisted and three unassisted.

DePauw returns to action next Saturday, where they will be hosting their long-time conference rival Wabash College (9-0, 8-0) in the highly anticipated Monon Bell game.

The game is set to be played at 1:07 p.m. at Blackstock Stadium.
