DePauw to host panel discussion on the Kerner Commission

Three civil rights journalists will be speaking at DePauw University tomorrow evening on the findings of the Kerner Commission and its impact 50 years later at 7:30 p.m. in the Watson Forum.

Richard Prince, former editor and reporter at The Washington Post, Dr. Ava Thompson Greenwall, a professor at Northwestern University, and Paul Delaney, former editor and reporter at the New York Times, will be in attendance. Miranda Spivack, Eugene S. Pulliam distinguished visiting professor, will be moderating the event.

The Kerner Commission was an 11-member group formed by President Lyndon B. Johnson to investigate the causes of the 1967 race riots across the United States. It is named after the chairman, former Illinois governor Otto Kerner.
