This past week the DePauw men's and women's track and field teams traveled to Gambier, Ohio, to compete in the 2024 North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. The women's team finished second in the conference, which was a program best, only falling to Wittenberg and Oberlin. The women scored 162 points with Lilly Monet ‘25 ending the conference with two individual all-NCAC performances and one all-conference finish in her relay. She also earned mid/distance athlete of the year within the conference. Monet finished first in the 1-mile run and second in the 3,000m.
Other DePauw women to earn all-NCAC finishes included Annalise Grammel ‘24, Katie Moore ‘25, Sophie Porter ‘25, and Shelby Stall ‘27. Not only were there incredible individual performances, but the 4x200 relay and the 4x400 relay both broke program records, including, Elizabeth Raborn ‘27, Grammel, Moore, and Stall, as well as Liberty Scott ‘27. Many familiar names achieved success to wrap up the indoor season for the DePauw Women. Other all-NCAC performers include Tessa Kochert ‘26, Bree Mahoney-Sutherland ‘25, Emma Stemmen ‘24, and Morgan Tharp ‘26.
The men also saw glimpses of success, finishing 6th behind teams including first-place Wittenberg and second-place Wabash. Daniel Jansen ‘25 was the bright spot of the competition, with a first-place finish in the 60m hurdles and three top-five finishes including the high jump and heptathlon. His performance in the heptathlon was not only an all-NCAC performance but broke a new program record. Matt Rowley ‘25 and Bailey Scott ‘24 also achieved multiple all NCAC performances including both finishing top three in the 1-mile run. The 4x200 relay also achieved a new program record, finishing 5th by the efforts of Connor Gaesser ‘27, Kaleb Strong-Jones ‘26, Grant Hunt ‘26, and Colin O'Malley ‘25. The all-NCAC performers on the men's team included Dylan Copeland ‘26, Daniel Jansen ‘25, Matt Rowley ‘25, Bailey Scott ‘24, and Henry Streib ‘24.
Both teams look to begin their outdoor season at Rose-Hulman on March 16.
