Students, faculty and community members too late to pick up or buy Yo-Yo Ma concert tickets Monday may be slighted a second time.
The university announced yesterday that the Thursday, Sept. 29 evening lecture by the world-reknowned cellist will be ticketed as well. The lecture, "Reflections on a Life in Music: An Evening with Yo-Yo Ma," will still take place in Kresge Auditorium at 8 p.m.
Tickets for the event, which was initially planned to be open to all, can be collected free of charge from the School of Music offices next week.
Ma is visiting the university as part of "DePauw Discourse 2011: Empowering Society Through the Arts," scheduled for Sept. 29 to Oct. 1. He will be joined by members of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago for an evening concert on Friday, Sept. 30.
Tickets for Ma's Friday evening concert ran out Monday afternoon, the first day they were offered for general admission and students in the College of Liberal Arts.
DePauw students can pick up a ticket for the Thursday evening lecture with a student ID in the School of Music offices on Monday, Sept. 5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Faculty and staff can pick up tickets on Tuesday, Sept. 6 from noon to 4 p.m. in the same location. Faculty and staff must also present their ID and have a limit of two tickets per person. General admission tickets will be available at the Green Center for Performing Arts box office Sept. 7 and 8, or until the supply is depleted, with a limit of two per person.
