The DePauw men's swimming team improved to 2-0 in its victory over Wittenberg College last Saturday. The team won the meet by a score of 178-116.
Freshmen Casey Hooker and Alex Alfonso each had two individual wins in Saturday's victory. Hooker won the 200-yard free with a time of 1:43.25 and the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 51.87. Hooker set his second pool record of the season in only his second collegiate meet.
Alfonso won the 100-yard free with a time of 48.26, the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 55.71 and was apart of the winning 200-yard medley relay along with sophomores Matt Gleason and Jack Burgeson and freshman Matt Bacinich.
According to D3swimming.com, the Tigers are currently ranked first in the Midwest region. The team returns to action tomorrow when it hosts Wabash at 7 p.m. in the Erdmann Natatorium.
