Megan Moroney released her third studio album, “Cloud 9,” on Feb. 20, with Columbia Records. The album debuted at number one on the US Top 200, making it Moroney’s first album to reach number one on the charts. For fans, this album came after two years of waiting.
The album was first teased in a social media post by Moroney on Nov. 9, 2025. Moroney began to post and appear embracing pink, sticking with her theme of embracing a certain color related to each album, and abandoning the “Am I Okay” blue she had sported since her second album release in July 2024.
Before the official album release, she teased songs on social media and debuted three singles. The first single, “6 Months Later,” debuted in July 2025. Soon following was “Beautiful Things” and “Wish I Didn’t,” which were released in October and January, respectively.
The album was released with 15 songs: “Cloud 9,” “Mecine,” “6 Months Later,” Stupid,” “Beautiful Things,” Convincing,” “Liars & Tigers & Bears,” “I Only Miss You,” “Wedding Dress,” “Change of Heart,” “Bells & Whistles,” “Table for Two,” “Wish I Didn’t,” “Who Hurt You” and Waiting on the Rain,” with a total run time of 52 minutes and 52 seconds. The album included two duets with Ed Sheeran and Kacey Musgraves.
The album received mixed reviews from fans and critics alike, as well as its own share of internet drama. Many listeners found the album to embrace pop far more than the country genre Moroney claims. Others enjoyed the new songs, with multiple of the songs trending on TikTok quickly after release. Something else that brought attention to the album was the alleged drama between Moroney and another country singer, Riley Green. Green and Moroney were rumored to have had a relationship in 2025, leading fans to quickly assume the song “Who Hurt You” was about Green. Green replied to the song in a TikTok video where he seemed to be responding with a song of his own.
With Moroney’s long-awaited album finally released, she is beginning her 2026 tour with new music for her fans.
