1. DePauw Student Government Elections

DePauw Student Government (DSG) is beginning the election process for the next academic school year.

Open positions include president, executive vice president, vice president of student life, vice president of academic life, vice president of community relations, vice president of allocations and vice president of equity and justice. There are also positions for five senators per class. Graduating seniors are eligible to run for the graduate member of the GOLD alumni board, graduate member to the alumni board and
graduate member to the Board of Trustees.

Campaigning will be done completely online. The DSG Constitution file with full descriptions of each role can be found here.

The election timeline follows below:

March 22 at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m: Two opportunities for interest meetings. Students who wish to run for any position must attend at least one of the two meetings. The Zoom link can be found here.

March 25 at 5 p.m: Students’ platforms for their position are due.

March 29 - April 2: Campaigning period starts March 29 and ends April 2. A debate will be hosted by DSG during this time.

April 5 - 7: Voting period starts on April 5 at 12 p.m. and ends April 7 at 12 p.m.

April 9: Results will be announced to the student body via email.

2. Campus Activities Weekend Update

The Beer Garden will be open again this weekend and there are no longer reservations. Attendance will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The two movie showings on Friday and Saturday are Judas and the Black Messiah at 7 p.m. and Raya and The Last Dragon at 7:30 p.m. Sign up for tickets here and remember to wear masks, sit socially distanced and do not bring food/drinks.

The Nacho Mama’s food truck scheduled for Friday has been canceled and a replacement has yet to be found.

3. COVID-19 Update

There are currently 2 positive cases reported to the university.
